HandSpoken — Handwriting to Font Conversion

Skills: C#, Python, Tesseract, AWS Transcribe · View on Devpost ↗

HandSpoken is a desktop application built with C#, Python, Tesseract OCR, and AWS Transcribe that converts old handwritten letters into a personalized digital font. Built in 24 hours at PennApps XX — one of North America's largest collegiate hackathons — it placed in the Top 30 out of hundreds of submissions.

The idea was to preserve the character of someone's handwriting digitally: scan a letter, extract the letterforms, and generate a font file that captures the personality of the original handwriting. Great for digitizing historical letters, family archives, or just creating something personal.
